meowoster asked: If you don't mind me asking what kind of camera do you have?
Hi, thanks for the message. Generally I use a 600 d cannon. (Some of these photographs are taken on a 60 d cannon.)
And then sometimes i use a Diana mini. (film. ) At the moment i’m a bit more into film photography. As well as the Diana i have used Pentax.
Honesty, I’ll take photographs on any camera i can get my hands on :)

Thank you for the message it really means a lot! Mostly my work has only been shown around the Yarra valley. In 2011 I had a solo show in Richmond at ‘The Owl and the pussy cat gallery.’ That show is my favorite thing i have ever done.
I have a solo show at the Brunswick street gallery from the 22nd of august - 4 September. You are welcome to attend ! i will be posting more details about shows soon ! x

In-stillness: self portrait 2011 By Rebecca Kate.
Thoughts behind portrait:
This piece was featured in my exhibition ‘show me your insides’ It is part of a series of two photographs. The other being ‘In-wildness’ For me the serious is about having a balance between being still, having time to look at your self and surroundings and allowing your self time to feel : to think : to breathe. To be sad. To create. To nurture the self.
Where as In-wildness is about running, not feeling, but feeling everything allowing experiences to be your sense of self. Destruction. nature, To be messy !
I created these images as a reminder that it is okay to be both. To fall apart and to rebuild. With destruction comes creation.

Self portrait 2013 By Rebecca Kate.
Thoughts behind the image, written shortly after produced:
I think the concept of money is really interesting and how it consumes a lot of us to some degree. Some more then others. Money is fast and easily gone. So many of us place a high value on money.
Lately I have had some issues with money. Not having much, not working much, owing people money.
When you deconstruct money its just pieces of paper nothing more. Money has been on my mind a lot lately and so i wanted to do something with it other then its usual function. I wanted to create a new meaning for money, for a moment i guess. ( I place a high value on art.. so i guess that fits into it as well.)
But then i guess another thing i am talking about is , the value people put on women. What a woman is worth.
All though this was not completely intentional the reference to high value on art is in the pose. It slightly mimic’s ‘The girl with the pearl earring.’
